Staff Electrical Engineer Specialist

Our Boston, MA office is seeking anelectrical engineer specialist entry level for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.Successful candidates must possess a Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited electrical engineering university and successful completion of the Fundamentals Exam (FE) or plans to take the examination.The ideal candidate will have skills with AutoCAD, energy modeling and load calculation software, specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit are a plus. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Key responsibilities will include participation, under the supervision of senior electrical staff, in the planning, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base.We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings.Additional responsibilities will include supporting the design efforts of senior electrical staff in AutoCAD and Revit.

Day to Day Duties:

Works and assist senior engineers to on the following project related efforts:

  • Develop designs using Auto CAD and/or Revit
  • Performs electrical calculations using specialized engineering software

    Lighting

    Short-circuit analyses

    Protective device coordination studies

    Arc Flash Analysis

  • Develop reports and specifications, utilizing Micro Office Suite
  • Field surveys and documents existing conditions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience:1 years minimum relevant experience as an intern.

Registration: The ability to obtain FE certification leading to future PE licensure

Compensation Range:

$64,044.00 - $85,392.00
