Position: Human Resources Intern
Location: Mattoon, IL

The Human Resources Intern can be a full time or part time summer internship (flexible schedule available). This position will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resources department. This position will start at $15.50 per hour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Answer handbook questions as they come into the HR inbox and point managers to specific instruction guides.
  • Follow up with managers on past due tasks (90 day reviews or inputting goals into system).
  • Providing managers with administrative access to systems.
  • Conducting Teller/Universal Banker phone screens.
  • Put in IT tickets for employee changes.
  • Assist in the new hire onboarding process.
  • Assist with administrative duties within our applicant tracking system and candidate communication.
  • Updating job descriptions as necessary.
  • Updating telecommuting status in our human capital management system (UKG).
  • Assist with 401K, HSA, and telecommuting audits.
  • Assist with benefit and payroll reporting.
  • Electronically filing personnel documents.
  • Assist with set up of new hire orientation.
  • Conduct research as necessary on employment laws and updates.
  • Works with confidential information in a highly professional manner.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Current junior or senior (candidate for graduation in 2024 or 2025) preferred.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and MS Office software, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint desired.
Skills:
  • A high degree of interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to communicate policies and procedures and relate effectively with employees.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
